Cleveland Metroparks Garfield Culvert Replacement

Project 599-25
Cleveland Metroparks Garfield Culvert Replacement
Garfield Heights, OH

Great Lakes broke ground on the Cleveland Metroparks Garfield Culvert Replacement Project in late November 2025. Work began with excavation to locate the existing 22’ x 7’ concrete culvert carrying the flow of Mill Creek through Garfield Heights, followed by installation of a bypass pump station to divert water around the work area. Crews then demolished the existing headwall and 420’ of culvert, restored the subbase, and installed 165’ of 22’ x 7’ precast concrete culvert sections. The culvert was backfilled, a new headwall and wingwalls were constructed, and Garfield Parkway was restored. Remaining work includes stream restoration, final backfill, and landscaping, with substantial completion anticipated in the coming weeks.
