The Hinckley Lake Dam Modification Project was designed to address the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Dam Safety Regulations.
The modifications included adding 10 feet of thickness to the concrete spillway. The training walls have been replaced with taller, thicker, tied-back cast-in-place walls. A new control tower has been added to the west end of the spillway. And the earthen dam has been heightened with added drainage systems built in.
he project included the placement of more than 3,000 cubic yards of structural concrete to the original spillway, along with over 10,000 cubic yards of embankment improvements to the earthen dams. Construction of the new spillway and earthen dams was successfully completed, followed by the removal of more than 15,000 cubic yards of accumulated silt from Hinckley Lake during the summer of 2025, restoring capacity and extending the service life of the infrastructure.
