The HAM-71 Lytle Tunnel (150085) project consisted of the rehabilitation of the existing Interstate 71 tunnels under Lytle Park and Fourth and Fifth streets on the eastern edge of Cincinnati. The tunnel, which originally opened to traffic in 1970, has three lanes of northbound I-71 traffic, two lanes of southbound traffic and a single-lane southbound exit ramp to Third Street. Great Lakes completed the rehabilitation of the existing tunnels, including the construction of a new underground ventilation and electrical room, new lighting, fire protection, ventilation and CO Monitoring, and ITS Systems. Also included were modifications to the existing ventilation room, CCTV cameras, and SCADA controls. The project required 10,000 cubic
yards of structural concrete.
