Project 437-22
NEORSD Streambank Stabilization Along Chippewa Creek at Millside Centre
Brecksville, OH
The main objective of the streambank stabilization project is to manage Chippewa Creek’s erosion. The project team has been focused primarily on the installation of a new waterline from the road above, down the slopes, and under the existing stream. The team has worked through many weather events, flooding in the river, and rock excavation to successfully install this waterline. A dual 36” diameter pipe flume was installed to bypass the creek during times of normal flow, allowing work to continue. Work progressing into the fall will include drilling rock sockets and installing H piles to accept the precast lagging retaining wall.
