Project 586-25
Slag Granulation Project
Cleveland, OH
In early 2026, Great Lakes successfully completed its portion of the Slag Granulation Project in Cleveland. The final phase of work included construction of the concrete structure supporting the dewatering drum equipment.
This work involved placement of mass concrete for four columns reaching 43 feet in height, followed by installation of shoring to construct 8’ thick beams spanning the columns, and a cantilevered deck. All placements were classified as mass concrete and were performed in close proximity to active plant operations and other contractors requiring careful planning, coordination, and execution.
