Project 78-25
SR-14 Whitehouse Crossing
Garfield Heights, OH
The Whitehouse Crossing Project continues into 2026, with progress impacted by multiple third-party delays that have limited available work. Despite these challenges, Great Lakes has made significant advancements at Pier 2, which is located between two active railroad tracks and directly beneath FirstEnergy transmission lines.
Through careful planning and attention to detail, crews successfully drove 42 pipe piles and placed 160 cubic yards of concrete for the Pier 2 footing. Work is currently underway on the 160’ long Pier 2 stem wall, which has been divided into four sections. Two sections have been completed to date, with the remaining pours scheduled in the coming weeks.
Upcoming work includes a 48” sanitary relocation, ground improvement and stabilization at the forward abutment, MSE wall installation, and continued substructure work for the new bridge being constructed adjacent to the existing SR-14 bridge.
